The University of Illinois-Urbana Champagne offers a variety of financial aid resources for their students, including merit-based, need-based, and department specific. UIUC does not require additional applications for any of their scholarships; the application for admission will be forwarded for scholarship consideration upon admission. Below is a summation of their merit-based scholarships.

Illinois Achievement Scholarship

This scholarship is available to Illinois residents with demonstrated financial need. The scholarship awards $10,000 annually and is renewable for all four years of undergrad so long as the awardee maintains and a 3.0 GPA and full-time status.

Stamps Scholarship

The Stamps Scholarship aims to recruit talented and driven undergraduate students with a commitment to civic engagement, research, and leadership in a global society. It is open to all incoming freshmen and the award amount varies depending on cost of attendance. It is renewable for all for 4 years, provided the recipient maintains a 3.0 GPA. Ten awards are given annually.

Provost Scholarship

This award is available to all National Merit Finalists. It covers $3,000 annually for 30 students and is renewable for 4 years, provided the awardee maintains a 3.0 GPA.

President’s Award Program

The President’s Award Program assists the University of Illinois to enroll highly capable students who have been admitted to one of the University of Illinois campuses and are members of historically underrepresented ethnic groups and groups that have been less likely to enroll at the University. These students must have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement. The award is for $5,000 annually and is renewable for 4 years, provided the awardee maintains a minimum 2.0 GPA.

President’s Award Program Honors

A companion program to the President’s Award Program, the President’s Award Program Honors Scholarship, was initiated for the highest achieving PAP-eligible students. This scholarship gives $10,000 annually for four years. Awards are distributed across the three University of Illinois campuses for a total of 200 awards. Students interested in renewing must maintain a 2.5 GPA.

James Hunter Anthony & Gerald E. Blackshear Endowment

This award is open to all incoming freshmen who have graduated from an Illinois high school. It pays full tuition and fees for the academic year. It is renewable for up to 4 years, provided the awardee maintains a minimum 3.0 GPA.

University of Illinois Transfer Scholarship

This scholarship is open to high-achieving, first-generation students with sufficient transferable graded hours and demonstrated financial need, and who are transferring to the University of Illinois from an Illinois community college. Awards are non-renewable, only for the first year the student transfers, and are in the amount of $1,000.
